Jesus is bigger than Depression: Being Saved and Suicidal!

Breaking Free from the Chains of Depression: My Journey Toward Hope and Healing

Depression isn’t just a fleeting sadness or a passing mood—it’s a relentless, heavy weight that wraps around your soul, making even the simplest tasks feel impossible. I remember the struggle to explain how it felt to those who didn’t understand. To them, it looked like I was just sad, but inside, it felt like I was chained, held captive by a beast that constantly fed me lies about my worth.

And yet, even in my darkest moments, something deep inside—the Holy Spirit—whispered a truth I clung to: God wasn’t finished with me yet.

Have you ever felt that way? Like you’re trapped in an invisible prison, isolated even when surrounded by people? If you have, I want you to know this: You are not alone, and there is hope.

Understanding Depression as a Christian

One of the hardest things I’ve learned through my journey is that Christians can get depressed, too. Being in a battle with depression doesn’t mean you’ve lost your faith or that you don’t love God enough. It means you are human, living in a broken world. Depression can be a spiritual and emotional battle, requiring care on both levels.

That’s what I came to understand in my own walk—depression wasn’t just a "bad day." It was a heavy, lingering presence that weighed on my soul, making me feel less than enough. But through this darkness, I began to recognize a powerful truth: Jesus is greater than depression.

The Enemy's Target: Your Mind, Will, and Emotions

The enemy often seeks to attack the most vulnerable parts of us—our soul. The soul, comprised of your mind, will, and emotions, is where the enemy wages his fiercest battles. But even as the enemy tries to deceive and bind your soul, remember this: your spirit belongs to Jesus. He has already claimed victory over every lie, every chain, and every dark force.

Holding on to Hope: You Are Not Alone

God’s love for you is real and unshakable, no matter how heavy the burden feels. Hold on to that truth.

Visible Reminders of God's Promises: The Freedom Five Collection

Through my testimony and the lessons, I’ve learned, I want to offer tangible reminders of God's truth for your journey toward freedom. Two of these reminders are the Identity Bracelet and the Deliverance Bracelet from the Freedom Five Collection.

  • The Identity Bracelet is a daily affirmation that you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). It reminds you that no matter what the enemy says, your worth is found in Christ alone.
  • The Deliverance Bracelet symbolizes breaking free from chains that bind you, a testament to the power of God's deliverance in your life.

Each bracelet in the Freedom Five Collection represents a pillar of spiritual freedom: Deliverance, Decree, Identity, Praise, and Prayer. These are more than just accessories—they’re daily reminders of God's promises over your life as you continue to walk in freedom.
